CYNTHIA COLEMAN TYOUS
Book Title
Can Pink Elephants Fly?

Cynthia is native of Texarkana, Arkansas and she is a
secretary at College Hill Middle School. She
began writing as a teenager and was inspired by her daughters and other young
people to write this book in her early 20’s. ‘Writing,” she says, “is
relaxing and allows me to envision a whole new world.”
Cynthia loves children and through her writing hopes
to encourage a child to feel especially confident about the features and traits
that make him or her unique. Cynthia
leaned on her faith to make it through major life challenges.
She believes that reading cultivates the mind and that a good book can
inspire one to do great things. Reading can help one to gain strength from God
and to overcome personal fears.
Her first book, Can Pink
Elephants Fly? helps children deal with the fact that
we are all different, but we keep our own individuality. Cynthia is in the
process of writing a second book that will teach young people that possessing
peace is a process of growth.
Cynthia is a graduate of Arkansas High School. Can Pink Elephants Fly?
is her first published book. The illustrator, an accomplished artist, is
Pleasant Grove Middle School teacher Charlotte Hueter.
