ABOUT THE AUTHOR

 Tammy D. Thompson was born in Texarkana, Arkansas in 1968. Her talent, and her want to be a writer, came early in her life. When she was about 8 or 9 years old, she began to write poetry. That went on for years. Then, when she was around, 21, she wrote her first novel, one she claims will never be published entitled Secrets of the Heart. Then, after several years, she completed her first published book, Buried, But Not Forgotten

 Mrs. Thompson has been noted to say it was based on a true story which stayed on her mind for several years before she ever started it. This first published work came from the core of her heart, putting her convictions on the table. It conveys a message to people about abuse in many different forms. Buried, But Not Forgotten, is partially Ms. Thompson's story combined with an aquaintance who shared similar experiences. It gives the reader all aspects of life from a child's eye.

  Since then, she has completed a series of books.

 "The Dream Mountain,"Series.

 This series starts with Dream Mountain. This was a novel she never intended on continuing, but from the request of numerous e-mails from readers, she continued on with the story. Since, three more books followed...A Dream Come True, Lessons of the Heart, and lastly Echoes From Heaven, released early December 2007.

  When asked about her writing and what brings her the most joy, her response came genuine and from the heart.

  "If what I write touches someone's heart, then I did what I set out to do. If it doesn't, I might as well not write another word. I believe God gave me a gift, and I want to share it with everyone I can. It's not about success so much as it is about 'Heart.'"

 her seventh title is a complete break away from the books prior to this one. In her words, "The moment I become a predictable writer, will be the moment I change my style. I always want to keep my readers guessing."

Mrs. Thompson teamed up with a friend, Nekay Smith, to write a "How to" book entitled "Dear Men." This is a book giving the insights of women in regards to love, sex, romance, and relationships in general. Move over Venus and Mars, "Dear Men" will tell it all. This project is taking Mrs. Thompson in a new direction in her writing, but fiction stories and poetry are still the better part of her.

 "I don't know," she said. "When it comes to my writing, I do whatever comes to mind. I believe in my talent and whatever I do, I know I'll succeed. I saw a quote somewhere once that said 'if I enjoy what I'm doing and it pays the bills, I consider that being successful.' If that's true, then I am successful. None the less, I'll keep treading forward. This is what I'm meant to do."

 Now, trying to get other authors noticed as well as herself, she has started an annual Fall "Gathering of Authors" Event in her hometown, partnering with a charity with each event (St. Jude Children's Research Hospital). "I don't want to just make a name for myself and fellow writers, but I want to help a charity at the same time. To me, it's a win win situation. The way I see it, the more you give from the heart, the more that will come back to you in the end." Giving her whole heart and soul into writing and helping others all she can, is one attribute she's always carried with her. It's just that now, she has the avenue to make more of an impact.

 Working on several other titles, her mind is constantly turning in the way of stories her readers will love. To make it short and sweet, words are her heart and her heart is in the right place.
